Hello, we are Laurie & Steph, the hearts and hands behind Oasis Cottage, our slice of paradise in Oxford, North Canterbury, New Zealand. Our passion for gardening and floristry has blossomed into a beautiful journey we are thrilled to share with you.
Our Oasis
At Oasis Cottage, we've created a haven where nature's beauty thrives. Our 5-acre English-style formal country garden is a vibrant tapestry of flowers, vegetables, and fruits. Each plant is nurtured with love and care, ensuring every bloom is a testament to our region's stunning possibilities.
On all four boundaries of the property, we have created wildlife havens by building wetlands, ponds, insect habitats, native and exotic plantations, and we even planted an arboretum!
We live in the middle of this hive of wildlife activity and this is where we cultivate our gardens. You will discover the Blue Garden, Vegetable Allée, the Atalier Florale, Cut-Corner, the Narnia Garden, the Duck Pond and the Wedding Garden.
Our Floristry Journey
Floristry is more than just arranging flowers; it's about telling a story with every petal and stem. We grow most of the flowers and foliage in our floristry work at Oasis Cottage, and the rest are sourced from trusted local growers in Canterbury. This ensures that all our arrangements are not just fresh and seasonal, but also sustainable, reflecting our commitment to the environment.
Opening The Garden
We love our little slice of paradise so much that we decided to share it with others. So, from January 2025, Oasis Cottage will be welcoming visitors. We hope you will enjoy your time meandering around the different garden rooms we've created.
