Oasis Cottage is not just a garden; it’s a tale of passion, creativity, and transformation.

For over 20 years, I have called this place home, gradually shaping the landscape from an overgrown tangle into a flourishing retreat. Early on, much of my focus was on planting hedges and trees, laying the foundation for the garden you see today. However, progress was slow as I was also dedicated to building my business, Oasis Beauty NZ Ltd.

Everything changed when I met Laurie just as I was selling the business. A semi-retired anaesthetist with a newfound talent for hard landscaping, he proved the perfect partner in this creative endeavour—a true match made in heaven! Over the last five years, together, we have poured our energy into crafting a garden that is not only a beautiful place to live but also a space to share with others.

My love for floristry has added another dimension to our garden, where flowers are grown and arranged to bring joy indoors and out. Every plant, pathway, and floral display is part of a larger vision that reflects our shared appreciation for nature, design, and hospitality.

Achieving a 3-star rating from the New Zealand Gardens Trust has been the icing on the cake, but the real reward is seeing visitors experience the magic of Oasis Cottage for themselves.

The garden is far from finished, and we have exciting plans for the future. Follow us as we work towards reaching a 4-star standard within the next three years—we can't wait to share the journey with you!
